November Board Minutes & Highlights

Main topic for the November meeting was May Day Preparation: There will be May Day Volunteer sign-up sheets available at January registration if there is something particular parents are interested in. U-10 brackets will be conducted "festival" style - all players get a medal - no elimination. Bethany Myers will be chairing May Day with Heather Christensen and Carrie Steckler co-chairing. Terry Call will be Field Marshall Coordinator with help from Jalie Meinecke. Communication Manager will be Lee Ann Reiter (with volunteer assistants). Fund Raising Committee will consist of Bethany Myers, Nancy Winkler and Jalie Meinecke (along with Heather Christensen and Carrie Steckler) with help from Lee Ann Reiter as needed. (A separate fund-raising committee meeting will be held fairly soon.) T-Shirts will again be sold by Planet Soccer. Nancy Winkler and Dick Smith will be in charge of fields and equipment. Jennifer Schumann will be in charge of trophies and awards. Lisa Heimer and Vicki Schoeber will be in charge of registrations. Scott Morrison will be in charge of signs and banners. Coaches: Interviews will be held in November and coaches assigned for U-14 and U-12 teams. Yellowstone Fire is pursuing holding a coaches' clinic to get interested parties an "E" Certification (will be required for YF coaching staff). Some form of non-mandatory open gyms will be offered through the winter months leading up to spring soccer to maintain conditioning for players. Details to be worked out after the first of the year when the school district can assess gym space availability. Miscellaneous: A proposal to have Blue Sombrero host the Yellowstone Fire Web Page was voted down due to relative cost and unknown level of usefulness of their web host page. The current Yellowstone Fire Web page will remain with changes being implemented by Christian Mills. Anyone with pictures they'd like to post can send directly to Christian. Other proposed changes can be brought to any Board Member for discussion and possible implementation. *December meeting will be to primarily discuss registration needs (registration to be held January 14 and 15 at the rec center).
